(Las Vegas) Tuesday, December 6, 2016 — U.S.VETS – Las Vegas has taken a vital role in helping end veteran homelessness in our community. Offering both transitional and permanent housing, over 300 formerly homeless veterans now call U.S.VETS – Las Vegas their home. While in housing, veterans are reuniting with family, rejoining the workforce, regaining independence and rebuilding their lives. This holiday season, the local community is encouraged to help grant wishes of these veterans.
One personal story of a veteran with a wish comes from a former Army military police officer who moved to Las Vegas from Aurora, Colorado. He recently graduated from the Aviation Institute of Maintenance with high honors. His dream is to become employed as an aviation mechanic and this holiday season, he’s wishing for a toolbox, so he’ll be prepared with the tools he needs as he seeks employment.
Participate in granting veterans’ wishes by visiting www.usvetsinc.org/lasvegas to read the personal stories and holiday wish lists written by veterans participating in U.S.VETS’ programs. For more information about the wish list project, or for out-of-town donors with questions on how to deliver gifts, please contact email@example.com.
