Business Basics Column “Finally…An Academy for Entrepreneurs”

The Nevada Women’s Business Center recently developed an “MBA Entrepreneur Academy”. It consists of a 9-part session, 15-hour intensive training program designed to incorporate core MBA skills for entrepreneurs. The goal of the Academy is to provide a cost-effective approach to learn MBA-level business skills that are commonly taught in Business schools. The MBA Entrepreneur Academy features:

  • 9-part, 15-hour course
  • Offered August 2018 – October 2018
  • Course format is a combination of webinars and in-class training sessions
  • Class size is a limited to 20 participants per class to maximize interaction
  • Time per session is 1- 2 hours
  • 9-part course fee is $49.00/person


The 9-part, 15-hour course consists of the following topics:

  • Part 1: How to Develop a Capabilities Statement
  • Part 2: Learn how to Contract with the Government
  • Part 3: Roundtable “Check-in” discussion
  • Part 4: Brand Management
  • Part 5: Create a Sales Funnel for Profit and Infrastructure
  • Part 6: Roundtable “Check-in” discussion
  • Part 7: Copyrights, Trademarks, & Patents
  • Part 8: SWOT Analysis
  • Part 9: Roundtable “Check-in” discussion
