On November 4th, the City Of Henderson held their annual Veterans Day Ceremony at the Henderson Events Plaza. This year the American War Mothers- Nevada State helped lay the wreaths at the Memorial Wall.
American War Mothers has a long History it was founded in 1917 and Congressionally chartered in 1925. The Henderson Chapter helped with the Memorial Wall for many years until the past Nevada State President Rhea Johnson, passed away in 2007. Rhea was largely responsible for collecting deceased veteran names to be placed on the Veterans Wall and would traditionally place a wreath at the Wall for Veterans Day Ceremonies.
This year the Newly formed chapter for AWM Nevada State carried on the tradition by laying a wreath along with Mayor & Council and special guests.
