Community Career Fair

On June 13th the Cosmopolitan along with top employers across Southern Nevada held a career fair that was open to all military veterans and family members. The community came together to support local veterans with job opportunities and information on different organizations that are available to them.

The Cosmopolitan who was the Veteran Supporter of the Month of May, Lori Calderon, Director, Talent Acquisition Supporting Veterans Initiative Champion, said the part of the initiative is to bring the community together and that this is all about the veterans and their needs. She also said ” You have to make things change, if you want them to change.”

The different companies were The Air Force Association, Apria Health, Boyd Gaming, Bureau of Reclamation, C3 Connect, Caesars Entertainment, Cashman Equipment, City of Henderson, Clark County School District, Diamond Resorts, G6, Goodwill, Helix Electric, Henderson Fire Department, Henderson Police Department, Humana, Impact Companies, JT3, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, MGM Resorts International, Millenium Staffing Solutions, My Next Career Path Staffing, Nuclear Care Partners, NV Energy, Palm Mortuary, Penn Gaming , Play LV, Pro Caps Laboratory, Randstad Professionals, Saint-Gobain, SLS, Southwest Airlines, Southwest Gas, Starbucks, State of Nevada, Storage One, Sutherland, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Think Food Group – José Andrés, Total Quality Logistics, Tradesmen International, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Williams Sonoma, Work for Warriors, World Financial Group, Wynn Resorts, and the YMCA, all had booths filled with information and applications for all who wanted it. Bobi Oates from the Women Veterans of Nevada had a booth there with information from DAV, AFA, The Woman’s Memorial, and the Woman Veterans of Nevada.
