On August 16, 2017, Congresswoman Dina Titus provided a Veterans Benefits Workshop for Veterans, their spouses, and survivors to better understand how to plan and receive hard earned benefits and services. This event was held at Las Vegas City Hall (495 South Main Street). Congresswoman Titus and her staff all want to help Veterans better access their healthcare and other earned benefits, and this annual event assisted in accomplishing the mission to help Veterans.  Director Shelia Jackson (VA Reno Regional Benefits Director), Director Kat Miller (Nevada Department of Veterans Services Director), Kelly Stellman (VA Reno Regional Benefits Service Manager), Virginia Gray (Southern Nevada Healthcare System Congressional & DoD Liaison), and Ben Jefferson (NV Department of Veterans Services Veterans Advocate and Support Team) all delivered information about their organizations.

The following organizations participated in the workshop to assist Veterans:   Welcome Home Troops, Nevada Department of Veterans Services, Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals (VAREP), as well as representatives from the VA Southern NV Healthcare System (VASNHCS) to assist with eBenefits and any other questions.   Veterans and guests were able to get on-the-spot assistance with filing new claims, or checking status of existing claims.

Events such as these are reflective of Congresswoman Titus’ efforts to ensure Veterans are aware of and receive the benefits they have earned.  Face-to-face interaction with the agencies present provides a much greater opportunity to access services than an email or phone call.  For those not able to make the Workshop, please contact Congresswoman Titus’ District Representative and Veteran Hunter Cain at 702-220-9823 or
