The Military Order of the Purple Heart is a Congressionally Chartered Veterans Service Organization. Among other services, the Nevada Department of the Military Order of the Purple Heart is now offering free assistance, service, and representation to all veterans, including dependents, survivors, widows, and orphans. The Nevada Department Service Officer and the Veterans’ Advocates who work with the Military Order of the Purple Heart are Certified Nevada Veterans Advocates. The offices work under the general direction of the VA and the Purple Heart National Service Officer at the VA Regional Medical Center in North Las Vegas Nevada. The National Service Officer provides support and assists with the actual filing of claims.
The offices operated by the Purple Heart provide guidance, assistance and information for claimants seeking benefits for compensation, pension, medical care, education, and burial benefits. It also assists in job training, employment, acquiring records and other areas as well. The volunteers who staff these offices are trained to assist veterans and their families in filling out the VA forms required to receive their earned benefits.
At the present time there are two locations staffed by certified Purple Heart Veterans’ Advocates, one in each of the VA outreach centers in Henderson and Las Vegas Nevada. The locations and hours of operation of these offices are: Henderson VA Outreach Center, 400 N. Stephanie # 180, Henderson, Nevada
