On June 10th the Elks Lodge #1468 held their annual Flag Day Ceremony at the lodge. The ceremony consisted of the history of the flag from before the Revolution until present day. They also performed the Floral Bell of Liberty Ceremony. They are the first and only fraternal body to require a formal observance of “Flag Day” which in July of 1908, the Grand Lodge provided the date of June 14th as the day each year it is mandatory for each Lodge of the Order of Elks to observe and perform this ceremony.
