Elks Lodge #1468 Hosts Yearly Christmas in July

On July 30, 2017, the Elks Lodge #1468 located on4100 W Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89102, hosted an event called Christmas in July with the support of the Fleet Reserve Association Fabulous Vegas Branch 90 (FRA). Christmas in July is a special event where Elks lodge and its members donate gifts to homeless veterans. The Elks Lodge #1468 has been at this location since 1990, and have been hosting this event for more than 25 years. They have been primarily reaching out to organizations such as: U.S. Vets, The Key Foundation, and Veterans Village. The Exalted Ruler of the lodge: Donald P. Wolf gave an opening speech to start the event.

During the event, the veterans received special treatment and recognition for what they have done for our country, and the Elks showed their appreciation by preparing food and other amazing surprises. Purple Heart Post #711 Commander: Leonard Yelinek prepared and served baked beans to the guests. Members from Emblem Club #114 presented the U.S. flag along with all the military branch flags. Nelson Reynolds who is the Vice Commander of the Scottish American Military Society Post 777 played some songs on the Bagpipe for everyone. All the guests and club members had a delicious meal that was prepared by the Elks lodge members including Elks lodge member Chef Joe’s banquet team. Everyone enjoyed the Christmas-like holiday with a Christmas-like atmosphere.
