On September 26th the first annual open house was held at the Fisher House here in Las Vegas.  Katie Franco, Manager of the Fisher House, since it opened in February 2016, was on hand to explain a little bit about the House.

Fisher House was founded by Mr. Zachary Fisher in 1991.  The Fisher house is a free temporary lodging facility for the family members of Veterans and Active Duty Military while they are hospitalized.  The house has housed 893 families in Nevada since it opened.

Attending the festivities were the different military establishments, like the VFW, American Legion, Jewish War Vet, Blue Star Mothers, the Purple Heart foundation, the Rebels cheerleaders and mascot, along with the UFC champion Khalil Rountree Jr, and numerous Veterans and their Families.

Activities were provided by Capital One, and Barbee Q provided by volunteers.
