MARINE CORP BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

The Celebration started at the Leatherneck Club honoring the 242nd birthday of the Marine Corp on November 10th, with over 600 in attendance.   The Marine Corp Ball was held at The Orleans Hotel and Casino on November 11, 2017 with over 1100 in attendance.  The Honored Guest at the ball was 4 Star General Peter Pace, USMC (Retired) the 16th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Other dignitaries were, Admiral Ike Richardson, Mike Lamb Captain Richardson, Brent (Woody’s handler), CWO 4WoodyWilliams, Cary McCarty, General Pace, Don McCarty, Mrs. Bedard, Rear Admiral Kathy Dussault, Lt-Gen Bedard, Ed (husband of Kathy Dussault), Tanya Stere (Mark Stevens girlfriend), Mr. Davis, Judge Mark Stevens, Colonel Michael T. Davis, USAF

Master of Ceremony was Mike Lamb.  The committee which works all year on this special event is Mike Lamb, Don McCarty, Norm Hondle, Dan O’Connell, 1st Sgt. Jay Foote, 1st Sgt. James Hartsuff, Tom McGrath, LeeAnne Bylund, Frank St. Jean, Rudy Rudolph, Dave Jochman, Gene Walworth, Bill Knipper, Rosie Gregorec, Lynnnoi Madden, GySgt Nathan Stutz, Chuck Crist, Rod Wijas, Christian Doleshall, and Jon Michael McCormick, special thanks, goes out to all of you.  The MCJROTC Basic High School and MCJROTC Desert Pines School presented the uniform parade of uniforms past to present.  The Ceremonial cutting of the cake which signifies the unity of the old to the young, Don McCarty cut the cake and presented the first piece to General Peter Pace, General Pace presented the second piece to the Oldest Marine Chief Warrant Officer Hershel (Woody) Williams, and Woody presented the third piece to the youngest Marine Lance Corporal Kevin Gonzalas.  The National Anthem was sung by the Lady Luck Showtime Chorus.
