Memorial Day Flag Retrieval at Boulder City Veterans Cemetary

After all the ceremonies were over on Memorial Day came the duty of retrieving the flags and packaging them until next year. The kids from Devil Pup and the Cub Scouts of Boulder City, along with Veteran volunteers under the watchful eyes of the National Order of Trench Rats Dugout No. 421 and Past Commander Jeff Carson District 18. The Trench Rats were appointed this honor 26 years ago by Governor Richard Bryan and have just been re- assigned by Governor Sandoval. The National Order of the Trench Rats has had the responsibility of voluntarily ordering, repairing, and replacing existing flags, honorably retiring destroyed flags and assisting in the placement of these flags during The Memorial Day and weekend ceremonies at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
