The MOAA Christmas Party was held on December 14th at the Palace Station. It was a night filled with dinner, dancing, raffles, door prizes and a special award ceremony. Master of Ceremony was MOAA Nevada Chapter President, Colonel John Menter. The honored guest was Lt. General Dana Atkins, (USAF Retired) President and CEO of MOAA.

Lt. General Dana Atkins was a demonstration piolet for the US Thunderbirds and at the time of his retirement he was the Alaskan 11th Air Command commander for the Air Force in Alaska. He spoke on how MOAA has the largest influence with the way bills get through congress and how they are helping Veterans. He also spoke on how MOAA is using Social Media to help influence the younger Military to join by giving them a reason and showing the benefits of membership. He also explained what the Military Family Initiative is and how MOAA members can help by getting more involved with the Community.

The honorees for the night were Janet Snyder for all she has done for the Chapter for the last two years with congress as legislative liaison, and Carol Donald, who became honorary member of the Chapter for all her work that she has done as a guest.
