Fellow veterans, Scottish American Military Society Post 777, located in Las Vegas, continues to support events locally and within the state. We have had an exciting year so far. We joined forces with Scottish American Military Society Post 1864 members out of Reno, Nevada to present the colors in support of Veterans & Military Day at the State Legislature Building in Carson City, Nevada. We received this invitation from State Legislator Chris Edwards.  It was quite an experience to pull all this together during the week, as several of the members of both posts work full time. Ted Inness, Chris Galloway, and Post Commander Tesha Seawell carpooled up from Las Vegas to Carson City the evening before the event. Post Commander Vaughn Moncrieff and several other members from Post 1864 met us early the following morning at our motel. As a group, we went and did an excellent presentation. Afterwards, we went across the street to a local pub and enjoyed socializing with each other before we parted ways to return home.

Locally, our post was invited to Palm Mortuary, Northwest, Las Vegas, Nevada for Memorial Day’s presentation of the colors and ceremony done along with the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Air Force Color Guard. Our presence was also requested for “Welcome Home Troops Night.” A pool side Color Guard presentation was done by  Post Commander, Tesha Seawell, Vice Commander Nelson Reynolds and members Ted Inness and Michael Myers.
