The Take it to the Streets Event was held on April 21st at the True Love Missionary Baptist Church. It was an early afternoon event that helped people with eye screening sponsored by the North Las Vegas Host Lions Club, blood pressure checks, sponsored by the True Love Missionary Baptist Church Nurses Missionary, and a nice free lunch. They also handed out personal hygiene packages to anyone who wanted one. Different booths handed out brochures on healthy eating and living, sponsored by Body and Soul, and free Bibles, given out by the Church. Outside there were booths with books and also clothing for those in need.

On Sunday April 22, the Uganda Children Chorus lead by Pastor James Teira. The Light Africa Ministries Church located in Kampala, Uganda with the help of the True Love Missionary Baptist Church here in Vegas got donations from their people to help send these children on this prestigious trip, touring the country and putting on their performances praising the Lord in their customary way.

Pastor Willie Jacobs Jr. , an Air Force Veteran, volunteered into the service in North Carolina, then came to Vegas in 1961 and has been the pastor for 13 years and encourages the unity of family and raising children in today’s society. The True Love Missionary Baptist Church has many veterans as members.
