Vegas PBS Announces 2018 Nevada Small Business Awards Winners

On May 3 Small Business Administration held a work shop in the Gold Coast followed by the Small Business Award presentation.

Sierra Vista High School Army ROTC presented the colors for the event, and Chloe Beth Jones sang the National Anthem.

Winners for this year’s event were:

Small Business Person of the Year: Mehdi Zarhloul, Crazy Pita Rotisserie & Grill

Veteran Owned Business of the Year: James Vincent “Chef” Barlow, USAF Retired, Blue Air Training, LLC

Woman Owned Business of the Year: Leila Louise Hale, Hale Injury Law

Microenterprise Business of the Year: Ty Martin,Craft Wine & Beer

Young Entrepreneur of the Year: Jonathan Santos, Medin Gebrezgier, and Cesar Santos, Revive

Rural Small Business of the Year: Troy Anthony Pefley, Royal Floors

Family Owned Small Business of the Year: Christian Andrew Christensen and Kasey Michelle Christensen, Stockpot Inc. dbaSÜP Restaurant

Minority Owned Small Business of the Year: Annielyn Abellana Abarca and Reymundo Sison Abarca, All About Details, LLC

Nevada Entrepreneurial Spirit –Statewide Recipient: Kathleen Cecelia Carrico, Nevada SBDC

Nevada Entrepreneurial Spirit – Urban Recipient: Rodney P. Jorgensen, Statewide Training Director, Nevada SBDC

Nevada Entrepreneurial Spirit –Rural Recipient: Mary Kerner, Rural Nevada Development Corporation
