On October 7th 2017 the VAREP and Veteran Charity Group had their 1st Annual Poker Run at the Marine Corp Leatherneck Club. These folks along with Innovative Real Estate Strategies, Brandy White Elk, and Vegas Strong with 100% of the proceeds going to support the victims and their families of the Route 91 Festival shooting.
Established in 2011, the USA Homeownership Foundation, Inc. DBA Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals (VAREP), is a non-profit 501(c)(3) and HUD-approved housing counseling organization dedicated to increasing sustainable homeownership, financial-literacy education, VA loan awareness, and economic opportunity for the active-military and veteran communities. The Las Vegas Chapter was founded in 2013; Ernie Gonzales Chapter president told us that there are 250 members here in southern Nevada that works together in helping Vets obtain housing.
Mike Estrada won $400.00 and donated it back to the cause. They also had a silent auction. Brandy White Elk donated 2 cruises that were raffled off and then gave a 3rd cruise to one of the victims which were in attendance at the event. Food was provided by Road Kill Grill, and live music was performed by Zoe Boyd. This event was done by all the member of VAREP. However Leah Gonzals ( president wife} did the most work.
