Saturday December 14th the VFW 10047 hosted their annual Christmas Party. The post members and auxiliary members have been planning this party every year since the post was organized. 10047 auxiliary president Maggie Gibbs, whose husband was in the army, says I couldn’t even count how many times we’ve done it. I’ve been in the Auxiliary for 38 years and pretty much every year we do it. It’s just a nice Christmas party for our active military and their children. It’s just a way of saying thank you and we hope you have a Merry Christmas.”
Auxiliary lifetime member said, “Actually it was a small committee we had about 15 members, but we did it in a rush, we waited until the last minute, but we made it all come together. Everybody was so happy and proud of what we had done. But we didn’t do it alone we had the assistance of our VFW post members.“
Eileen Patterson, Army veteran and current Junior Vice Commander 10047 says, “We’re just trying to serve back to the community and provide them some opportunity to share some holiday spirit.” To see more photos or more stories, go to https://www.veteransreporternews.com/
