Len Yelinek, right, Commander of Las Vegas Purple Heart Chapter 711, presents a $500 check to Jeff Gutting of “22 Veterans”, assisted by Chapter 711’s finance officer, Richard Small. “22 Veterans”, named so because 22 veterans commit suicide daily, purchases and trains service dogs for veterans at risk. The Military Order of the Purple Heart, chartered by Congress, provides service to all veterans and their families. All recipients of the Purple Heart are combat-wounded veterans or active-duty military.
