On February 13th Veterans Village and T.H.E. Salon (Total Hair Experience Salon) cut the ribbon with a crowd in recognition of the grand opening of the new salon at Veterans Village 2. This new salon will provide a limited amount of free make-overs per month for all new residences. Having a salon at Veterans Village will help give residents there a “little bit of dignity” says Misty Sumner, T.H.E. Salon Skin care therapist, “to people who have gone through incredible hardship for us and to be able to give something back to them in the way of self-esteem and self-care.”
Nicole Christie explains why she partnered with Veterans Village, “For the past 6 years we’ve been providing salon services to those who struggle with addiction. And I fill a running thread with the community, I’ve wanted to dig in deeper and continue to help those who need it the most expectations are to provide services for every veteran here and I would like to provide services consistently to our veterans down here.”
“This salon is all a part of treating our veterans with respect and dignity and providing a place for them to regenerate their lives.” Says Dr. Arnold Stalk Founder of Veterans Village.
