Walker Furniture works together with their partner Vegas Golden Knights for their inaugural ‘Beds for Kids’ Event Sunday, March 31, at City National Arena.
15 kids were selected by community partners Clark County Fire Department, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Communities in Schools and Las Vegas Rescue Mission to receive new beds. “We rely on the partners to find the children in need because they are on the front line meeting the community.” Says Jackie Brett, Publicist for Walker Furniture. The children and their families got to join Golden Knights cheerleaders/personnel for a private skating session for two hours from 5pm to 7pm.
Many local organizations donated for the event. Spread the Word Nevada donated books for all the kids and Papa John’s Pizza donated pizza for a pizza party. Other treats and goody bags were also given out in addition to a new mattresses.
