Mayor Debra March was the guest speaker. She spoke about her military family and all that the City of Henderson has to offer veterans. The Military Order of The Purple Heart recognized Mayor March and awarded her with a plaque for her continued support of veterans.
Judge Stevens talked a little about each graduate and awarded them with their completion certificates as well as a military quilt from Moms Love Quilts, VTC challenge coin, and a star from Stars for Our Troops. Each graduate and their mentors said a few words about their experiences.
Each graduate was awarded certificates from Mayor March’s office as well as from Senator Heller’s office and Congresswoman Rosen’s office. Refreshments were served following the ceremony.
Eight veterans graduated from the program (7 males & 1 female) (4 Army, 3 Navy, & 1 Marine) since the program began in July 2011 there have been 141 graduates.
VTC is held every Thursday at 2pm at Henderson Municipal Court, 243 Water Street – Department 1, Henderson 89015.
