Nevada State Governor Steve Sisolak joined Executive Director Silver State Health Insurance Exchange Heather Korbulic at the Grant Sawyer State Office Building (555 East Washington Ave, Suite 5100) on Friday November 1st to formally kick off the Open Enrollment for Plan 2020.
Nevadans who don’t qualify for Medicaid, Medicare or don’t have insurance through their employer are eligible to enroll for insurance through Nevada Health Link. Many Nevadans are eligible for subsidies and tax credits, available only through Nevada Health Link. For Plan Year 2020, consumers will no longer use the Federal Health Insurance Marketplace, HealthCare.gov to enroll in coverage. Instead, consumers will enroll at NevadaHealthLink.com.
According to a recent report from the Guinn Center, there are nearly 400,000 people who are uninsured in the state of Nevada with the bulk of them residing in Clark County, ranking Nevada sixth highest in the nation for the uninsured population. While the numbers are staggering, Executive Director Heather Korbulic and the Exchange, with Gov. Sisolak’s support, continue to lead the country on state-based efforts to reduce the uninsured populations and close the gap in the state of Nevada.
Governor Sisolak says, “I want Nevadans to know health insurance is well within reach, no matter how much you make.”
