VAVS Awards Presentation

Maria Moss, Past President of the American Legion Auxiliary Paradise Unit 149, was recognized for her efforts with the VA Voluntary Services program, for her 8,750 hours of volunteer hours at the Northwest Clinic and the Fisher House.  The awards banquet held on April 10th at the Alienate Hotel and Casino.
VAVS is the largest Volunteer program in the Federal Government and our history reaches back to 1946. VAVS Volunteers have contributed over 676 million hours of time and expertise to improve the lives of Veterans, nationally.
Within the past 11 years, the local VAVS has expanded services to all medical facilities within the VASNHS. These include the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System Medical Center, Four Primary Care Clinics, the Veterans Recovery Center (VRC), Readjustment Counseling Service (RCS)/Veterans’ Outreach Center (Vet Center) in Las Vegas and Henderson NV, Community Base Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) in Pahrump, Nevada, MCPO Jesse Dean VA Clinic, the Nevada State Veterans Home in Boulder City, Nevada.
