On Tuesday evening, August 20th, the Congressman Steven Horsford hosted a town hall at the North Las City Hall Council Chambers to discuss with the local public about what he has done in his first 8 months in Congress. The town Hall began after a prayer from Pastor Hanson and the pledge of allegiance led by the Girl Scout troop.
Congressman Horsford says, “Since coming into Congress and taking part of the new democratic majority, my colleagues and I have taken every opportunity to introduce legislation that we believe benefits Nevadans and all American people.”
The Congressman tells everyone about why he focuses on healthcare legislation. Congressman Horsford says that fighting for quality healthcare is personal for him because when he first came to Congress six years ago, he underwent major heart surgery, “so I know firsthand how frustrating it can be to navigate the healthcare system” Recently, since he came back to Congress he and his staff have been “diligently” working on lowering healthcare costs.
The day after, in his office at the North Las Vegas City Hall Congressman Horsford held a Military and Veterans Advisory Council Meeting.
